A festive mood invades the city of Quito as it celebrates its Spanish Foundation, which took place on December 6th 1534. An important bullfighting fair is held, and flamenco shows are offered in most hotels and restaurants. Mobile parties called "chivas" can be seen throughout the city, which are open buses with live bands.
