The Most Complete Guide of Ecuador

Quito in the summer: Hop on the TeleferiQo and touch the sky!

Quito’s weather is very unpredictable, but in summer, especially during July, you can enjoy spectacular days and clear blue skies. Admire the city and its surrounding volcanoes! It is the perfect time to hop on the TeleferiQo Quito sky tram and enjoy the most spectacular panoramic views of this Andean city.

TeleferiQo is the safest way to reach the Pichincha Volcano and its attractions. In a short 8- minute cable car ride, you can enjoy two wonderful ecosystems:  the Andean Forest and the Paramo (moorlands)

Once you reach to the top of the TeleferiQo, 4 tourist routes are offered:

  • The Humboldt Route
  • The Historic Route
  • The Route of the Ancestors
  • The Volcano Route.

The latter includes a hike to the summit of the Rucu Pichincha Volcano! This is a moderately difficult climb that offers the opportunity to reach 4.680 meters in a relatively short time.

Experience the exhilaration of conquering the summit of an active volcano!

TeleferiQo offers excellent hiking trails for every level. Many mountain climbers come to train, since you can reach a high altitude in a very short period of time. The TeleferiQo also grants visitors an easy access to great downhill mountain bike trails. There are special prices offered for downhill bikers, as well as a package for the whole day.

When you get to the top, you have a restaurant and cafeteria where you can have lunch after a day full of activities. It is a wonderful option for anyone to enjoy Quito in a clear summer day. You even have an amusement park at the base station (Vulqano Park)!

A great way to access the TeleferiQo is the Quito Tour Bus: complement your day with a complete tour of the city.

Don’t miss out on wonderful views of the city and hop on the TeleferiQo this summer!
